THE COMPANY
JU Metallwarenfabrik develops functional and durable mailbox systems, parcel locker systems, and intercom systems for industry and commerce that impress with their precise workmanship, high quality, and practical functionality.
The CPQ solution
Originally, the company used a configurator that was used exclusively internally and served primarily for visualization purposes.
The goal was to replace it with a comprehensive solution that would also largely automate price calculation and the entire quotation process.
The aim was to create a platform that would enable anonymous users to configure products and submit inquiries, while at the same time enabling the sales department and dealer network to configure products, calculate prices, and generate quotes at the touch of a button.
1. Configurator
- Correct configurations – Each selection is checked against rules and is technically feasible and producible.
- Accessible to all – Whereas the configurator previously ran exclusively on internal servers and was only available to the sales department, it is now publicly accessible.
- Significantly faster variant creation – Renderings that previously took several minutes are now available in seconds.
- Wissensunabhängig von Einzelpersonen – Produktregeln, Abhängigkeiten und Konfigurationslogiken waren bislang stark an einzelne Mitarbeitende gebunden (z. B. ab welcher Breite eine Quertraverse erforderlich ist). Dieses Wissen ist nun vollständig im Konfigurator abgebildet.

In the past, the configurator was an isolated, standalone solution: operated locally on the server, used exclusively by the sales department, and without any connection to pricing or quotation processes.
