THE COMPANY

In the Handover Automation business segment, KEBA is one of the pioneers of automated package handover: the first package station went into operation as early as 2001. Today, these stations are in use worldwide - as modular, high-end products that meet stringent requirements for aesthetics, compliance with standards, and configurability.

The CPQ solution

1. Configurator

  • Replace the schematic sketch – KEBA Handover Automation already had a tool for visually representing parcel stations – but only in 2D and without any advanced logic.
  • Sales, other roles – There are two perspectives: The sales team views prices, creates quotes, and modifies individual items. Other roles do not.
  • Visually stunning – photrealistic, in 3D, and with textures - not just a schematic sketch.
  • Get a quote faster – With just one click, the completed configuration is turned into a fully editable quote that can be customized, adjusted, and further processed.
  • Logic instead of sources of error – nested options and dependencies remain secure, transparent, and compliant.

HIGHLIGHTS

Placement logic

Certain technical parameters are only permitted in specific positions. The logic prevents invalid combinations from occurring.

Standard-compliant placement

Applicable standards are permanently stored in the configurator and are applied automatically. This ensures that components such as the control unit and payment terminal are always positioned correctly and in compliance with regulations.

Corner & Spacer Segments

Stations can be built around corners. Where a door needs to remain open, for example, a spacer segment automatically leaves the necessary space.

Self-maintenance via upload

The data is stored in Excel, which the customer maintains and updates via upload - providing full control over the data without relying on external support.

New variants without 3D customization

New custom compartment layouts within a module can be easily added - without modifying the 3D model.

Bill of materials at the touch of a button

With the push of a button, a complete bill of materials is generated - accurate, comprehensive, and requiring no manual follow-up work.

Rights Management

The sales team has expanded permissions and its own view.

Customer Access

For selected customers, custom accounts have been set up with specific modules, options, and terms and conditions. As a result, they see only approved configurations; irrelevant options are automatically hidden.

2. Pricing Management

  • Real-time price calculation – Every change updates the price immediately, with no waiting.
  • Suitable for international use – multilingual and flexible for every market.

HIGHLIGHTS

Price View (Protected)

Access to prices is controlled on a role-based basis. While the internal sales team can view all relevant pricing information, this information is hidden from customers in the public view.

Volume discounts

Stored price scales are automatically applied based on the selected quantities. Prices are calculated across the entire configuration and take volume discounts into account in real time.

Real-time margins

Every price change is immediately assessed for its impact on the contribution margin. This allows the sales team to see how discounts affect profitability even while preparing a quote.

3. Quotation Management

  • End-to-end process – From configuration to the final quote, all data remains within a single system. Media breaks and manual intermediate steps are a thing of the past.
  • Maximum flexibility – Once the configuration is complete, it is transferred to the quote management system with a single click. There, sales representatives have complete freedom: they can edit customer data, delete or add items - anything is possible.

10-page proposal

Not a standard PDF: This document displays the actual configuration as an image and clearly lists every SAP code and all packages. Detailed down to the very last item.

Maximum flexibility

Once the configuration is complete, every item, every piece of text, and every discount can be customized, including customer data and software packages. Nothing is set in stone.

No duplicate entries

All data from the configuration is automatically transferred to the quote management system. This eliminates the need for manual data entry, saving time and preventing errors.

3 months until go-live

No matter how complex the requirements or how many product variants need to be taken into account, we rely on an agile approach and deliver productive results in the shortest possible time. That was precisely what made the difference for KEBA Handover Automation.

Within just three months, a fully operational solution was developed and went live right on schedule for the planned trade show appearance. However, the project did not end with the successful go-live. Since then, the solution has been continuously refined.
